It's All Good

So,I remembered yesturday that I hadn't updated the blog to let everyone know how Maddie is. She's fine, a little anemic, but otherwise, very healthy. The doctor now officially has us giving her solids and putting rice cereal in her bottles. I have to take her back in three weeks for weight check.

She has discovered that she can make sounds at the back of her throat, kind of like a baby pig or something. It's really cute. She's trying to sit up by herself, lots of falling backwards, and she loves the jumper now.
And now, some pictures.

5 Month Appointment

My poor baby! We went for her appointment today, such a shame because she was in such a good mood this morning. She got two shots and one oral vaccination. As usual, she cried and looked at me like I was abandoning her to this evil woman with a needle. At 26 inches long, she only weighs 11.4 pounds. I knew she was long and skinny, but this concerned not only myself, but the doctor as well. When she went in July, she weighed 11.2 pounds.

Sooooo, they had to put this "pee" bag on her, which irritated her skin because of the sticky stuff. Her urinalysis came back fine. Then, they sent me to the Cape Fear Diagnostic Center for blood work. Three tubes of blood later, we went home.

The doctor will call me when the blood work comes back, but I'm not really worried. No sense getting all worked up.

He did officially tell me to start her on solid foods, oh boy! What messes await me!!

She is done. Poor thing has been trying to sleep since her first round of shots.

I will, of course, update this once I hear from the doctor. And I have to take her back for a wellness check (weight check) in one month.

Fun with Grammy and Grandpa Mason

I had a great time with my parents this past week, and I hated to see them go as much as they hated to leave. Once Maddie got over the initial shock of the "odd new people," she took a real liking to them. She was really intrigued by dad's mustache. "What's with that comb on his face?" And, as always, she was terribly amused by all of the odd sounds that he made. She gave grammy and grandpa tons of shy smiles, but at the end of the day, she wanted mommy, of course.

So, Akira has started getting more and more curious about this tiny little being that is now taking up all of my time. We just happened to get this on video. It was hysterical.
