Well, we have hit the two week mark. I can't believe that our little girl has already been in this world a whole two weeks. They aren't kidding when they say it goes by fast. She's napping right now, but I'm sure she'll wake up soon, and I just wanted to post some new pictures. She changes everyday, becomes more alert and inquisitive of what's happening around here. I promise to post nursery pictures soon. So for your viewing pleasure...

For now I must go, sunshine is not sounding so sunny. Love to all.

Home Sweet Home

Who does she look like?

Katie?

Jason?

Boy am I glad to be home. I may not be getting much sleep, but at least we're out of that tiny closet that passes for a hospital room. People told me that I would be exhausted, and don't get me wrong, I am, but not any more so than I was that last month or so of my pregnancy. Thankfully, my parents have been here to give me a helping hand so that Jason could go back to work and take the time off later. Lord love them, between Madison and the cats, NOBODY got any sleep that first night. She is starting to become more comfortable being on her own in the bassinet or swing so mommy and daddy have been able to sleep some.

Even though it's just beginning for me, motherhood is amazing. I can't believe how much she has changed in just the past week. And I know I'm partial, but she's beautiful. Her first doctors visit went great, except she pooped all over her cute outfit. She actually gained 1/2 an ounce, while most newborns lose weight. We go back in one month for shots, and I'm NOT looking forward to that at all.

Speaking of pooping, I had my first diaper changing debacle today. She not only pooped on me while I was changing her, but she also peed. Needless to say, my parents thought it was quite hysterical.

Nothing prepares you for the bliss, excitement, terror, and amuzement of becoming a first time parent. Of waiting anxiously to hear that first cry after they are born. We had a bit of a scare when she came into this world with her umbilical cord wrapped around her neck. Jason didn't tell me at the time, but her little face was blue, and she had to be looked at and suctioned for "pre-birth" poop. It might have only been 10-30 seconds, but it seemed like an eternity.

And what can I say about Jason besides Madison already has him (along with myself) wrapped around her little finger. And he says he couldn't be happier about it.

She's finally here!

What's up with how our baby girl is in the 5% of babies born on their due date. I promise that I'll post some more pictures soon, but here are a few to get you all started. Once I feel a little better (and have some more patience with the computer) I'll post more information. But for now, know that we are all doing well. I'm exhausted and Madison is having some stomach issues. Thank you all for your love and support. 4/2/09 7.9 lbs 21inches

They weren't up yet, but check out www.Our365.com for her hospital pictures.
